Open Cell Backer Rod – Polyurethane Foam Backing for Sealant Joints

The Open Cell Backer Rod is a compressible, cylindrical foam made from high-quality polyurethane. Designed specifically for use as a backing material in cold-applied sealant joints, it’s ideal for expansion joints, construction joints, and general building applications. Its open cell structure helps promote faster sealant curing and prevents outgassing through the sealant surface.

This rod is free from heavy metals, plasticisers, CFCs, and contains no fire retardants. It is supplied in a neutral grey colour for minimal visual impact in joints.

Available Sizes (Diameter/Roll Length):

Custom sizes may be available on request for project quantities.
