GENEX GEN10 - General Purpose Silicone Sealant

Genex GEN10 Silicone - is a one-part Neutral cure (non-acidic) silicone sealant. It is a general-purpose silicone sealant designed for applications where long-term reliability is required. It is unaffected by high and low temperatures and its superior physical properties are retained after many years of exposure.

APPLICATIONS 

Genex GEN10 has potable water approval. Suitable for Sealing roofing-coated steel, Aluminium, Flashing, Spouting, Guttering, Metal Water tanks, Metal lap joints, Wall Cladding, Masonry Ceramic Tiles, Cement Roof tiles air-conditioning units, RV and transport bodybuilding.

 APPLICATION 

  1. All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, oil, rust or any other contamination. Metals should be cleaned with a non-oily solvent. The solvent should be wiped from the surface with a clean dry cloth. For plastics contact the manufacturer for a recommended cleaning solvent. 

  2. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle slightly wider than the desired bead. Extrude sealant with a sealant gun. Tooling time is 10 minutes.

  3. To produce a neat appearance a masking tape is recommended. It should be removed immediately after tooling before the skin overforms. 

  4. Uncured sealant should be cleaned off nonporous surfaces while in the uncured state.

  5. Should not be applied when substrate surface exceeds +50°C.

LIMITATIONS - Genex GEN10 is not recommended for use:

  • On submerged joints where porous substrates permit water to the bond interface
  • For certain rubber products where bleeding of plasticiser may occur.
  • In horizontal walkways where sealant will be subject to abrasion.
  • Cannot be painted.  
  • Not recommended for use on polycarbonate plastic
